ALBUM RECORDING

Søren Gemmer and main group with Tapani Toivanen, Per Møllehøj, Andreas Fryland along with trumpet player Mads La Cour will record the follow-up album to critically acclaimed debut album ‘at first’.

Once again, the group will record in the renowned Fattoria Musica studio near Osnabrück and sound engineer par excellence Chris Weeda has agreed to work with the group on the album.

The album will feature yet another collection of songs written primarily by Gemmer. However, a surge of expressiveness and agression has of late crept into the compositional work of the band leader and the album will present a forceful and kaleidoscopic take on the modern jazz idiom.

Two separate projects presenting exploratory reading of Ecclesiastes and Songs of Songs - two of the canonical Wisdom Books in the Old Testament.

Musical dialogue with Lindhart and the work itself, providing an abstract & provocative commentary.

Analogue synthesizers, sampling, electronically manipulated acoustic grand piano, composition & improvisation.

ALTING HAR EN TID toured Denmark in 2018 & 2019. HØJSANGEN has since 2020 been presented at churches, museums and venues around the country.
