CPH Jazz Festival 2015 : Solo – ‘Bud Powell Excursion’

SG interpreting the compositions of bebop legend, Bud
Powell. The music will at times be faithfully devoted to the master pianist of bebop and at
times deconstructing the compositions in search of new meaning.
Powell was a rhythmically masterful musician, sensual if there ever was a sensual
bebop musician, and his music will be seen in new light in the hands of Gemmer and his
melodic and harmonic sensibility.

Two separate projects presenting exploratory reading of Ecclesiastes and Songs of Songs - two of the canonical Wisdom Books in the Old Testament.

Musical dialogue with Lindhart and the work itself, providing an abstract & provocative commentary.

Analogue synthesizers, sampling, electronically manipulated acoustic grand piano, composition & improvisation.

ALTING HAR EN TID toured Denmark in 2018 & 2019. HØJSANGEN has since 2020 been presented at churches, museums and venues around the country.
